HUGH JART 16ft high LOVE LETTERS

HUGE LOVE 2002 - 2004

Hugh Jart designed & installed the

'HUGE LOVE' for the first time at Glastonbury Festival 2002 in the Cabaret Field.

Built with recycled materials the LOVE stood 16ft high, 33ft wide and 4ft deep. The response it got from the festival go-ers was amazing. No one could walk by without stopping to look. They couldn't even wait for the paint to dry before jumping up to sit in the letters for their group photos. Nicknamed the 'Love Sign' by the people it went on to appear at Glastonbury's 2003 & 2004 festivals.

After the demise of the HUGE LOVE & the popularity of the letters - Hugh Jart designed the full LOVE LETTER FONT & have gone on to producing smaller 3D letters. Although these letters are half the size of the original LOVE, not huge - just big (8ft high), they still stand out.

We now produce 2 types of 8ft high letters for different purposes:-

LIGHT WEIGHT (LW) letters -

All are 8ft high x 3.5ft deep. Most are 4ft wide.

These are more suited for 1 day events.

Can be used on hard or soft ground.

Can come pre assembled & decorated.

Can come on swivel & braked wheels.

Can be quick & easy to transport, move & install.

Can support small numbers of people sitting in the lower levels but wouldn't withstand climbing up & on.

Low installation costs.

HEAVY WEIGHT (HW) letters -

All are 8ft high x 4ft deep. Most are 4ft wide.

These are more suited to multi day events.

Requires more involved & timely installation process.

Letters usually come flat packed & are assembled, decorated & dismantled on site.

Can support people climbing up & sitting on.

BIG BESTIVAL 2006

Hugh Jart designed & installed the

'BIG BESTIVAL' for the first time at Bestival 2006 in the festival's 24hr Field.

BIG BESTIVAL is 8ft high, 28.5ft wide and 4ft deep.

These HEAVY WEIGHT letters were built to be able to support people climbing & sitting in/on the piece.

Also these letters had been designed to be reused, flat packed, easily stored & transported.

HUGH JART 8ft high LW LOVE LETTERS

BIG BRADFORD 2007

Hugh Jart designed & installed the

'BIG BRADFORD' for the first time at the STIR Festival 2007 in Centenary Square, Bradford.

BIG BRADFORD was 8ft high, 32ft wide and 4ft deep.

These LIGHT WEIGHT letters were designed to be able to be easily moved as they were produced with lighter materials and on wheels. They could support small numbers of people sitting in the lower levels but wouldn't withstand climbing up & on. Although they could be flat packed these letters can also be transported pre assembled and decorated for very fast get in/out times.

Being on wheels meant that Bradford could be pushed along the route of the Lord Mayors Parade in Oct '07.

In 2008 we cut the depth of the light weight letters to 3.5ft - better for transporting when they are assembled.
